Gosforth won by 5 sets to 3 and 42 games to 30

Silvia climbed off her sick bed for the second time this week to partner David and in a close fought first round they halved 5-7, 7-5 before being outclassed in the second round by ace pair Sue & Chris only winning 2 games.

Second pair Jan & Tony also lost a set to love against the Gosforth top pair but fought back bravely in the second set before going down 4-6. Their efforts were rewarded in the second round as they won comfortably 6-4, 6-2 to be top couple on the night.
